The story of a storytelling app
Open Mic is a mobile app that enables everyone to easily create their own "NPR" story and share it with the world. With Open Mic, anyone can become Ira Glass!
In one summer, my goal was to research, design, iterate and build a working prototype of a storytelling app. I based the design off these findings:
- Everyone has a story, but often people don't know how to tell a story
- People need something to talk about
- People need just the right amount of structure
- People need a person to talk to
- People need a time limit
I did lots of user testing with paper prototypes and an audio recorder to understand what kind of questions would get the best story.
